Gordon Russell sideboard , Mahognay with doors of birch plywood veneer with Bombay rosewood , brass hinges and brassed copper ring handles aluminium door fittings , inside the cupboard is a shelf with cut out section at the left to accomdate bottles and drawer under right hand section ,
The decoration is achieved by cutting through top layers of veneer to reveal paler colour below , the timber is faded and the contrast was originally much more striking .
